Concurrent Student (High School)
A concurrent enrollment student is a student who is currently attending high school and taking college-level courses at the same time.
First Time Freshman
A first-time, first-year freshman is a student who is enrolling in college for the first time after graduating from high school or earning an equivalent credential, such as a GED.
Transfer/Visiting Student
A transfer or visiting student is a student who has attended another institution and is either transferring credits to continue their education or taking courses temporarily without pursuing a degree.
Returning Student
A returning/reapplicant student is a student who has previously applied to or attended the institution and is returning to continue their education after a period of absence.
Graduate Student
A graduate student is a student who has earned a bachelor’s degree and is continuing their education by pursuing an advanced degree, such as a master’s or specialist degree.
International Student
An international student is a student who is not a U.S. citizen or permanent resident and plans to study in the United States on a student visa.

UAM superscores ACT scores. We also accept ACCUPLACER and SAT scores as alternatives to ACT testing. Students must also have at least a 2.5 GPA. UAM superscores the ACT and accepts the SAT and ACCUPLACER. First-time freshman students may also qualify for institutional scholarships based on their high school GPA.
