Forest Health Center

Welcome to the Arkansas Forest Health Research Center

At the Arkansas Forest Health Research Center, we are committed to growing forests that are healthy, resilient, and sustainably managed for the future. We conduct research that delivers practical solutions for local and regional challenges while contributing to the global conversation on forest health. As a forward-thinking hub, we bring together scientists, students, industry leaders, and landowners in a collaborative space that highlights the history, science, and progress of Southern forestry. Working alongside the Arkansas Forest Resource Center and the Arkansas Center for Forest Business, we assess the impacts of pests and pathogens, develop science-based and economically viable resilience strategies, and provide testing support for industry and landowners. Through long-term forest monitoring projects and a dedication to hands-on student engagement, we are building both the knowledge and workforce needed to ensure healthy forests for generations to come.

Vision:

  1. Grow through research developments forests that are healthy and resilient
