Kids' University Information


The University of Arkansas at Monticello’s Kids’ University is a summer enrichment program for capable and motivated students who will enter 1st through 6th grades in the fall of 2026. Our focus is to cultivate new interests, expand knowledge, and spark imagination and creativity while providing a non-graded environment for personal growth and development. We are committed to enhancing the love and adventure of learning while developing well rounded children who will seek college educations in their futures.

Course Descriptions

  • Campers discover the magic of the arid landscape through hands-on nature studies,  exploration, and creative desert-themed arts. From "Habitat Heroes" studies to sand art, this camp offers an unforgettable, sun-drenched, action-packed day.

  • Campers explore marine life, create ocean-themed crafts, and engage in STEM activities, including building DIY ocean dioramas, crafting colorful jellyfish, conducting water experiments, and playing beach-themed games.

  • Campers become wildlife biologists! Campers will explore the four rainforest layers, study plants, and enjoy sensory activities like making snakes and painting tropical scenes. Activities include jungle treks to find hidden animals, canopy crafts, and "predator vs. prey" games.

  • Campers escape to the mountains to focus on outdoor exploration, team building, and skill-building in nature. Activities include nature-based arts and crafts using natural items like pressed flowers, pinecones and stones.
