UAM Celebrates 2025 Homecoming Week with Festivities and Football Victory


2025 UAM Homecoming

The University of Arkansas at Monticello held its 2025 Homecoming Week from September 29 through October 4.

On October 2, during the UAM Athletics’ annual UAM Sports Hall of Fame banquet, Braden Chambers, Felicia Crowe, Scott Howell, Von Mixon, Jr. and the late Harold Tilley were inducted into the UAM Sports Hall of Fame. Jimmy Sledge was named the 2025 UAM Sports Hall of Fame Spirit Award Winner.

On October 3, the UAM Alumni Association hosted a reception for the annual alumni award winners. Dr. Whitney McGregor and Dr. Donnell White, III were the recipients of the Young Alumni Rising Star Award. Alumni Achievement and Merit recipients for 2025 included Brad Bailey, Jerry L. Bingham, Sr., Classie Jones Green, Jody Pagan and Charlie Searcy. Bill and Mary Ellen Givens and Joseph “Joe” Kelnhofer were the recipients of the 2025 Continuing the Connection Award. Jennifer Chaney, Maelie Cooke, Patricia Harden, Daizy McKee, Rylee Meeks and Joshua Tolbert were the student recipients of the 2025 Alumni Association Scholarship, and Addison Nelms was the student recipient of the 2025 UAM Alumni Legacy Scholarship.

On October 4, the UAM African-American Alumni Association held a reunion and awards reception. During the event, Garry Barnett, Sharonda Forte, Tim Harris, Danielle Morris, James Pennywell, Hiram Sumlin and Niketta White were named the 2025 Alumni Elite Honorees.

On October 4, during the UAM Homecoming Coronation Ceremony, Kaiden Jalei Hale, a junior social work major from Monticello, Arkansas, was crowned the 2025 UAM Homecoming Queen. The eleven other members of the 2025 Homecoming Court included Maria Fernanda Arellano, a junior psychology major from McGehee, Arkansas; Bryleigh Marie Bickers, a junior nursing major from Warren, Arkansas; Le’Aundreea Makell Cameron, a junior K-6 elementary education major from Fordyce, Arkansas; Alivia Jewel Cook, a junior psychology and business double major from Monticello, Arkansas; Robbi Joanne Freeman, a senior exercise science major from Crossett, Arkansas; Ronnie Hope Johnson, a junior communications major from Pilot Point, Texas; Xiomara Molina, a junior middle level education major from Monticello, Arkansas; Emma Kathryn Scott, a junior nursing major from Magnet Cove, Arkansas; Bruna Silva, a senior agriculture major from Contagem, Minas Gerais, Brazil; Paige Nicole Stanley, a junior business major from Hermitage, Arkansas; and Reese Wilhite, a junior psychology major from Monticello, Arkansas.

On October 4, prior to the UAM Homecoming football game against Southern Nazarene University (SNU), the UAM community enjoyed a tailgate party and parade. During the game, fans cheered on UAM Football, UAM Cheer and the UAM “Pride of Southeast Arkansas” Marching Band. The Boll Weevils concluded the day with a 23-9 homecoming victory over SNU.
