Intramurals

The Intramural program provides an opportunity for all current UAM students*, faculty & staff to participate competitively in a wide variety of sports and special events. A complete listing of the sports and special events offered each semester, Intramural Sports & Special Events. Answers to frequently asked questions are a click away, IM FAQ’s. Campus Recreation

For those current UAM students, faculty & staff interested in pursuing less organized recreational activities, the UC Rec Areas located on the lower level of the John F. Gibson University Center, maintain open rec hours for drop-in use. A variety of Outdoor Activity Areas available on campus provide ample opportunity to engage in outdoor recreation.

Job Opportunities

Part-time positions available for student sports officials and recreation area attendants. Applicants must be knowledgeable in sports/fitness field, reliable, prompt, honest, even tempered and assertive. Experience preferred. CPR certification and/or First Aid certification also preferred. Morning, afternoon, evening and weekend work hours available. To apply for an IM/Rec student worker position, fill out and submit the IM Job Application. Applications are also available in the UC Rec Area lobby and in the IM/Rec office.

Mission Statement

The mission of UAM Intramurals and Recreation is to provide support to the development and well-being of the members of the university community (students, faculty, and staff) through participation and involvement in a variety of competitive intramural sports and special events as well as recreational activities that promote the productive use of leisure time while providing diverse opportunities for the development of social, emotional, educational, occupational, and physical lifetime skills.
