Chi Iota Sigma Minutes for April 3, 2008

Board Members Present: Susan Berryman, Vaneisha Bunn, Sarah Clay, Cherie McMahon, and Miranda Bunting
  1. Officer Reports:
    1. Secretary- Read the minutes of last meeting.
    2. Treasurer- Cherie reported we have $754.21 in our Simmons account.
  2. Old Business:
    1. Bowling tonight from 6-8:00 p.m., sign up to go.
  3. New Business:
    1. April 22 - CIS Award Luncheon, UC Capital Room at 12:30.
  4. Meeting Conclusion
    1. The next club meeting will be held on Thursday April 24, 2008.
    2. Chris Simpson from Entergy is our guest speaker today.

Chi Iota Sigma Minutes for March 6, 2008

Board Members Present: Susan Berryman, Vaneisha Bunn, Sarah Clay, Cherie McMahon, and Miranda Bunting
  1. Officer Reports:
    1. Secretary- Read the minutes of last meeting.
    2. Treasurer- Cherie reported we have $754.21 in our Simmons account.
  2. Old Business:
    1. The Bake Sale made $146. 35.
    2. Food Drive extended to March 12.
    3. Membership must be paid by today to be eligible for book stipends.
    4. BBC 102 lab is open Sunday thru Thursday from 4:30 - 8:30.
    5. Career Fair, March 26.
  3. New Business:
    1. April meeting
      1. Chris Simpson will be the guest speaker for April meeting.
      2. Menu will be pizza.
    2. Field trip to Windstream March 27 (must have dues paid to go).
    3. Motion passed to go bowling April 3, 2008 from 6:00 to 8:00.

Chi Iota Sigma Spring Food Drive

Chi Iota Sigma completed the Spring 2008 food drive on March 12. The CIS club collected 780 food items, exceeding their goal by 30 items. The food was donated to the Holmes Chapel Church food pantry.

Chi Iota Sigma Minutes for February 7, 2008

  1. Officer Reports:
    1. Secretary- read the minutes of last meeting.

    1. T-shirts are in the office to be picked up.
    2. Bake Sale will be February 13, sign up sheets passed around.
  3. New Business:
    1. Easter Food Drive, Feb 18 – March 7, goal 750 cans.
    2. Book Stipends and Scholarship Forms due March 1.
    3. Career Fair, March 26.
    4. Weevil Welcome Feb 8, 11, asked members to go by and visit.
    5. Discussed bowling or a game night.
    6. Checking into possible places for field trip.

Chi Iota Sigma Bake Sale

The Division of Computer Information Systems student organization, Chi Iota Sigma, held a baked goods sale on February 13 in the Division spaces in the Babin Business Center. The proceeds from the sale will be used to help fund a tour of the information systems facility of a regional business later this year.

Chi Iota Sigma Minutes for December 6, 2007

Board Members Present: Susan Berryman, Vaneisha Bunn, Sarah Clay, Cherie McMahon, and Miranda Bunting
  1. Officer Reports:
    1. Secretary- read the minutes of last meeting.
    2. Treasurer- Cherie reported that the Simmons Bank account has $831.41.
  2. Old Business:
    1. T-shirts graphic pick up in office.
    2. Food Drive: we exceeded our goal and donated 1,200 cans.
    3. Bake Sale will be on Valentine’s Day.
  3. New Business:
    1. Dr. Roiger presented the book stipends. Congratulations to: Bridgett Watson, Ben Faver, Walter Warfield, Keith Franklin, Ronald Minnieweather, Donald Minnieweather, Brent McGehee and DeAnna Moore.

  1. Officer Reports:
    1. Secretary- read the minutes of last meeting.
    2. Treasurer- Cherie reported that the UAM account has a balance of $334.91. The Simmons Bank account has $807.31.
  2. Old Business:
    1. T-shirts graphic charge, motion passed to increase cost.
    2. Food Drive Oct 29 - Nov 14, 2007.
    3. Bake Sale postponed until Valentine’s Day.
  3. New Business:
    1. December meeting
      1. Food - Treat Table provided by CIS Department
      2. Book Stipends will be passed out.
    2. Book Stipend Forms need to be filled out and returned by November 9.
    3. Motion passed to spend $50 per child for Angel Tree program.
    4. Thank CIS Department for providing lunch.
    5. Andre Brown is our guest speaker from Dillard’s.

Chi Iota Sigma gives to Holmes Chapel Church

Since its inception in 2001 Chi Iota Sigma (Computer Information Systems student club) has collected canned and non-perishable food items at Thanksgiving time for distribution to local food banks. This year the club’s president, Susan Berryman, reported that the club members not only reached their goal but exceeded it by collecting 1,200 items. The club would like to extend its thanks to everyone who helped make this annual effort such a great success.   1. Officer Reports:
    1. Secretary- read the minutes of last meeting.

    1. Motion denied having Homecoming Parade Float.
    2. Congratulations to Vaneisha Bunn on the homecoming court.

      1. Food - Motion passed for potluck.
      2. Program- Andre Brown will speak at meeting.
    4. Motion passed to support 2 children for the Angel Tree program.
    5. A reminder about the pumpkin contest will be sent. Any decorating ideas should be sent to Ms. Harris or Susan.
    6. Cherie will demonstrate how to set up folders in Outlook today in the lab after the meeting ends.
