UAM Wins Awards At Deep South Debate Tournament

Hargis, a communication major, was named the first place speaker in the varsity debate division and reached the finals in varsity debate. McDorman, a communication major, also reached the finals of varsity debate while Cook, a criminal justice major, was the fifth place speaker in junior varsity debate. Others competing or participating for UAM were Grace Nash, an English and modern languages major from Mount Holly, and Collin O'Connor, a psychology major from McGehee. Colleges and universities competing in the tournament included UAM, Bossier Parish Community College, Jackson State University, Louisiana Tech, Mississippi College, Mississippi State, Middle Tennessee State, Stephen F. Austin State, Arkansas-Pine Bluff, Southern Mississippi, Tennessee, and Union.
