MONTICELLO, AR — The UAM College of Technology-McGehee will host an eight-week training course for persons interested in becoming a certified nursing assistant, according to Cortez Smith, director of the UAM COT-McGehee Career Pathways Initiative.
Classes begin October 18 and end December 13. To be eligible for the course, persons must have a child under the age of 21 and be receiving benefits from the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) or the Transitional Employment Assistance Program (TEA). Services provided to those enrolled include a weekly gas voucher, childcare assistance and all needed supplies and tuition.
