MONTICELLO, AR — The music of some of America’s greatest composers will be part of the fare at a Dinner Pops Concert at the University of Arkansas at Monticello on March 31.
The UAM Chamber Choir and Music Theatre Workshop under the direction of Dr. Kent Skinner will perform for guests while they enjoy dinner in the Green Room of the John F. Gibson University Center beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets for the event are $25 and may be purchased in advance by calling the Division of Music at (870) 460-1060.
The program will include performances of “Consider Yourself” by Lionel Bart, “I Got Rhythm” and “Someone to Watch Over Me” by George Gershwin, “Brush Up Your Shakespeare” by Cole Porter, “Nothin’ Like a Dame” and “Maria” by Rodgers and Hammerstein, “Tonight,” “You Could Drive a Person Crazy” and “Weekend in the Country” by Stephen Sondheim, and three selections from Gilbert and Sullivan’s “HMS Pinafore.”
