School of Social and Behavioral Sciences' Mission

The School of Social and Behavioral Sciences offers courses and programs in the broad range of the social and behavioral sciences, designed to provide preparation for careers in social services, government, and teaching, as well as preparation for graduate and professional studies. Primarily geared to baccalaureate degree programs, the division plays a significant role in the general education program of all students, and also offers a social studies specialization as part of a master's degree in secondary education.

This School offers educational experiences in the form of a comprehensive teaching-related major in History and Social Sciences; majors and minors in Criminal Justice, History, Political Science, Psychology, and Social Work; and course work in Anthropology, Geography, and Sociology.
