Move over Jason Mraz and James Blunt; a new singer songwriter is in town and he goes by the name of James Morrison. Morrison's only 22 years old, but his lyrics and voice have a much older appeal to it. To hear him sing on first listen without seeing his face, you would never guess it was a scrawny white man from Britain belting through the speakers. Morrison was born in Rugby, Warwickshire and lived through unpleasant circumstances. His childhood was plagued with suffering and poverty. At an early age, he struck out on his to pursue a career in music. His big break came when an A&R Executive at Polydor Records heard his demo, and the rest is history. Morrison's debut album "Undiscovered" has already gone platinum in Britain. His lead single "You Give Me Something," took the country by storm and solidified his place as a bonafide star. Now he's poised and ready to tackle the United States. Unlike his counterparts, Morrison has the ability to do what they have failed to do, cross over to the urban market. Morrison's voice has just as much soul as Stevie Wonder or Al Green. In a time were true soul singers are few and far between Morrison is stoked and prepared to take the industry by storm. With the likes of Paolo Nutini, Amy Winehouse, Muse, James Blunt and now James Morrison, a new British invasion may be on the horizon. Must hear tracks: "You Give Me Something," "The Pieces Don't Fit Anymore" and "Better Man"
