Greek Reputations, Hazing Discussed

Kaitlyn Woods
Staff Writer

Delta Sigma Theta held a meeting Tuesday night to discuss "Stereotypes and Tall Tales." A drawing for free gas closed the meeting.

The tall tales included rumors heard around campus. The topic of "hazing" came up during a question and answer session. The stereotypes discussed included perception of sorority girls.

"Some of them know how to carry themselves and some don't," Jermaine Gardner said.

Vaughan Roy provided his opinion on mistakes first-year female students make.

"From a male prospective, a lot of women shouldn't listen to other ladies talk about each other and women shouldn't put themselves in compromising positions with guys at parties," he said.

Tawana Jones summed up the advice given at the meeting.

"You need to get this cleared up or you'll be a mess with letters across your chest," she said. "When you wear those letters you don't represent yourself, you represent the chapter."

Winners of the free gas drawing included:
$25: Landreil Woods
$50: Charles Armstrong
$100: Odell Car
