Sigma Theta held a meeting Tuesday night to discuss "Stereotypes and Tall Tales." A
drawing for free gas closed the meeting. The tall tales included
rumors heard around campus. The topic of "hazing" came
up during a question and answer session. The stereotypes discussed included perception of
sorority girls. "Some of them know how to carry
themselves and some don't," Jermaine Gardner said. Vaughan Roy provided his opinion on mistakes first-year
female students make. "From a male prospective,
a lot of women shouldn't listen to other ladies talk
about each other and women shouldn't put themselves in
compromising positions with guys at parties," he said. Tawana Jones summed up the advice given at the
meeting. "You need to get this cleared up or you'll be a
mess with letters across your chest," she said. "When you wear those
letters you don't represent yourself, you represent the
chapter."
