Will Collins
Sports Editor

The 2005 Drew County Fair is coming to Monticello Sept. 17-24.

Among some of the activities, competitions and sites will be an annual parade that will run downtown. Claudia Gladden and Frankie Coker have been selected as the marshals for the event. Both have been involved in county fairs and extension Homemakers Clubs for years.

Of the talent showings, pageants, parades, livestock shows and rides to name a few, the rodeo still reigns supreme. The rodeo is set to kick off at 8 p.m. Sept. 23.

The pageants of all ages open up the 62nd annual event and expo on Saturday, Sept. 17. Exhibit judging starts at 9 a.m. Monday. On Tuesday, the parade begins at 5 p.m. followed by the talent show at 7:30 p.m. Livestock judging starts at 8 a.m. Wednesday with the armband night of the fair capping off the day. On Thursday, senior citizens can get screened, blood checks, cholesterol checks and more from 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.
There will be drawings for prizes Tuesday through Saturday at 9:15 in the breezeway between the extension and commercial buildings.

Don't miss out on all the fun and excitement this coming week at the Drew County Fair.
