COT-McGehee Hosts Fish Fry, Technology Day

   The 11th Annual Jimmy Lee Buford Memorial Scholarship Fund Fish Fry and Auction will be held at UAM College of Technology-McGehee Thursday, March 9 from 5 to 7 p.m.

   Students Randy Cox Jr. of McGehee and Victoria Gil Birch of Monticello currently attend the University of Arkansas at Monticello on full tuition scholarships paid with the proceeds of the 2005 Fish Fry and Auction.

   A delicious catfish dinner with all the fixings will be served. Please attend, have a good time and bid on the items. “Doc” Bilberry and F. H. Gill will be the auctioneers and promise to entertain you. There could be some great bargains! Come out for an evening of fun and entertainment. The catfish dinner will be prepared by our outstanding cooks, led by Leon Lloyd and Bob Kizer. Call Don Bulloch at 222-8085 or 538-8774 or Bob Stark, associate professor of agricultural economics, at 460-1414 for tickets or to place items in the auction.

    The campus hosted its 27th annual College of Technology Day Feb. 24 for seniors from area schools to participate in contests held in communications, automotive technology, welding technology, agriculture technology, keyboarding applications/word processing, business math, payroll accounting, early childhood education, electronic spreadsheet/Excel and health occupations. The winner of each category received a full-tuition scholarship to UAM College of Technology-McGehee. Participants from McGehee, Dumas, Dermott, SEACBEC in Warren, Monticello Occupational Education Center and Cornerstone Christian Academy appear with their awards below.
