Robert Moore
Contributing Writer

Seymour Hersh's book "Chain of Command: The Road from 9/11 to Abu Ghraib" is now available in the University of Arkansas-Monticello Bookstore, both in hardcover and paperback.

The New York Times said of this book, "The best book we are likely to have this close to events ... This book reminds us why tough, skeptical journalism matters so much: it helps to keep us free" (New York Times Book Review).

Hersh will deliver two public lectures at UAM on Thursday, March 9. He will speak with students and give an informal talk on his life as a journalist and writer at 3 p.m. in Memorial Classroom Building auditorium. A question and answer session will follow the free talk, which is open to the public. We encourage every UAM student to attend and make use of this extraordinary opportunity.

That evening at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center auditorium, Hersh will deliver the 2006 Rockefeller Distinguished Lecture, which is free and open to the public. The title of his lecture comes from his New York Times best-selling book, "The Road From 9/11 to Abu Ghraib."

This lecture will be followed immediately by a question and answer session, after which Hersh will sign books in the lobby. A reception in the Spencer Gallery of the Fine Arts Center follows. The Rockefeller Distinguished Lectures and the University of Arkansas at Monticello are sponsoring these events.
