I do not appreciate the lack of study done in the Terry Schaivo case. I believe more research should have gone into the piece. I have witnessed two grandparents die this very same way. It was the most peaceful way that I could imagine to pass on. Your body is a very unique. When you are dying, you do not feel the hunger pains or get thirsty that way that a healthy persons body reacts. Yes, Terry Schaivo looked horrible, but that is part of the dying process. There are also a lot more legal issues here than just her husband. The whole issue is over money. I am not picking a side in the issue, but I can understand both. If she wanted to die rather than be put on life support, what is so wrong with that? Kelly Donham Adviser's Note: Due to an unexpected change in staffing and
resultant logistical problems, the campus police log remains absent from this
week's Voice but will return in its entirety in the next issue.
