Associate of Applied Science Degree in General Technology

Option 1: A student completes all the requirements for a technical certificate in one of the following:
Administrative Office Technology, Arkansas Heavy Equipment Operator Training Academy, Automotive Technology, Correctional Law Enforcement, Early Childhood Education, EMT Paramedic, Health Information Technology, Health Professions, Hospitality Services, Practical Nursing or Welding Technology.

Plus: Completes the minimum 15 hours of general education courses (listed below) and additional elective hours (either technical or general education courses) for a total of 60 credit hours.

Option 2: A student completes 24 hours in a major technical area and 21 hours in the technical core support courses from other related technical disciplines and completes the 15 hours of general education courses, listed below. With the approval of the academic advisor or unit head and the Vice-Chancellor for Academic Affairs, the student may select courses from one or more technical disciplines and develop a coherent technical program that will prepare him/her for employment in occupational and technical fields.

All of the general education courses, with the exception of MATH 0183, may be applied toward a baccalaureate degree at UAM or transferred to another university.
