Interested in learning more about the history of Arkansas? image of spinning wheel
Keep the William F. Droessler Special Collections Room in mind!
We are proud to announce that the area formerly known as the Arkansas Room was renamed in June of 2004 for Dr. Droessler. Serving UAM for 27 years as Cataloging Librarian and as Library Director, Dr. Droessler was also instrumental in establishing the Special Collections Room. For more information, please contact Ms. Mary Heady at 870-460-1581 or heady@uamont.edu.

Collection

Special Collections houses books and periodicals pertaining to Arkansas. We have a particular focus on Southeast Arkansas and carry journals for the region, including the Drew County Historical Journal. We also have journals and books about the surrounding counties of Ashley, Bradley, Cleveland, Lincoln, Desha, and Chicot.

Special Collections also houses archival materials. The materials focus on the history of the university. They include Arkansas A & M Board Minutes from the 1930s to the 1960s, yearbooks from 1925 to the present, and university publications such as the UAM Alumni Magazine.

Donations and Transfers

Special Collections needs your help! The library is actively collecting materials relating to UAM. If you have materials you would like to donate or transfer to special collections, please contact Mary Heady at 870-460-1581 or heady@uamont.edu. Donations and transfers are accepted based on the library's collection development policy.
