The Associate of Applied Science
Degree in Crime Scene Investigation is available
exclusively to Arkansas law enforcement personnel who
are actively employed within a criminal justice
organization of the State. The University of Arkansas at
Monticello, in partnership with the Criminal Justice
Institute of the University of Arkansas System, offers
this degree program. To successfully complete the Crime
Scene Investigation program, students must take special
courses through the Criminal Justice Institute along
with general education courses from UAM. Contact the Criminal Justice

Science in Crime Scene Investigation, a student must
first complete the Crime Scene Investigation Certificate
of Proficiency and the Crime Scene Investigation
Technical Certificate. The requirements of both
certificates are listed below. Crime Scene Investigation
Certificate of Proficiency (Note: Crime Scene Investigation
awards (Certificate of Proficiency, Technical
Certificate, Associate of Applied Science) must be
completed sequentially.) Criminal Justice Institute (CJI):

Technical Certificate Student must have earned the Crime
Scene Investigation Certificate of Proficiency before
