Deadline and Information


The deadline to apply for Institutional Scholarships for Fall is July 1st of every year.

The University of Arkansas at Monticello offers a variety of institutional scholarships to assist students with strong academic or leadership records.

For institutional scholarship consideration, entering freshmen must submit an admissions application, ACT or SAT test scores, a 6th or 7th semester high school transcript and proof of immunization to meet eligibility requirements.

  • Students will only be awarded with a scholarship with the highest eligible value.
  • The June ACT test is the last score report that will be accepted for scholarship purposes.

  • No scholarships will be renewed if a student falls below a 2.00 GPA for any semester.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR ENTERING FRESHMEN

  • $6,000 award per semester for a maximum of eight semesters of continuous enrollment. Out-of-state tuition is waived.
  • Requires 30 ACT composite and a 3.00 high school GPA.
  • Renewal criteria: First-time freshmen must complete at least 12 hours the first semester and at least 15 hours in the second semester. After the freshman year at least 15 hours must be completed each semester. A 3.00 grade point average is required.

  • $4,500 award per semester for a maximum of eight semesters of continuous enrollment. Out-of-state tuition is waived.
  • Requires 27-29 ACT composite and a 3.00 high school GPA.
  • Renewal criteria: First-time freshmen must complete at least 12 hours the first semester and at least 15 hours in the second semester. After the freshman year at least 15 hours must be completed each semester. A 3.00 grade point average is required.

  • $3,000 award per semester for a maximum of eight semesters of continuous enrollment. Out-of-state tuition is waived.
  • Requires 24-26 ACT composite and 3.00 high school GPA.
  • Renewal criteria: First-time freshmen must complete at least 12 hours the first semester and at least 15 hours in the second semester. After the freshman year at least 15 hours must be completed each semester. A 3.00 grade point average is required.

  • $1000 award per semester for a maximum of eight semesters of continuous enrollment.
  • Requires 22-23 ACT composite and 3.00 high school GPA.
  • Renewal criteria: First-time freshmen must complete at least 12 hours the first semester and at least 15 hours in the second semester. After the freshman year at least 15 hours must be completed each semester. A 3.00 grade point average is required.

  • $750 award per semester for a maximum of eight semesters of continuous enrollment.
  • Requires 19-21 ACT composite and 3.00 high school GPA.
  • Renewal criteria: First-time freshmen must complete at least 12 hours the first semester and at least 15 hours in the second semester. After the freshman year at least 15 hours must be completed each semester. A 3.00 grade point average is required.

  • $3,000 award per semester for a maximum of eight semesters of continuous enrollment. Out-of-state tuition is waived.
  • Requires 21 ACT composite and 3.00 high school GPA and proof of valedictorian status (final high school transcript).
  • Renewal criteria: First-time freshmen must complete at least 12 hours the first semester and at least 15 hours in the second semester. After the freshman year at least 15 hours must be completed each semester. A 3.00 grade point average is required.

  • Out-of-state tuition is waived for residents of Texas, Louisiana, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Missouri. An out-of-state waiver is available to students from other states, when a student receives an institutional, performance, or athletic scholarship in an amount equal to tuition for a minimum of 12 hours in the fall and spring terms.
  • Waiver is applied when the student registers for classes.

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR TRANSFER STUDENTS

  • $3,000 award per semester for a maximum of four semesters of continuous enrollment. Out-of-state tuition is waived.
  • Eligibility Requirements: Students transferring from an accredited community college with at least 60 transferable hours at the 1000-level or above and a minimum 3.00 cumulative GPA. 
  • Renewal criteria: Complete at least 15 hours each semester with minimum 3.00 GPA at UAM to renewal for an additional year.

Students who are freshmen at another institution are eligible to transfer to UAM in the spring and receive first-time freshman institutional award. Eligibility requirements:

  • Complete at least 12 credit hours with a minimum 3.0 GPA at current institution, apply for admission, and provide an official college transcript.
  • Renewal criteria: Complete at least 15 hours each semester and maintain a 3.0 GPA at UAM.
This award will not be extended beyond a total of 8 terms (from all schools attended).

Students interested in transferring to UAM may be eligible to receive an institutional award:

$2,000 award per semester for completion of 36 transferable hours

$1,000 award per semester for completion of 24 transferable hours

Eligibility requirements:

  • Currently enrolled full-time with a minimum 3.0 GPA after the fall term. Apply for admission and provide an official college transcript.
  • renewal criteria: Complete at least 15 hours each semester and maintain a 3.0 GPA at UAM.
  • This award will not be extended beyond a total of 8 terms (from all schools attended).

SCHOLARSHIPS FOR CURRENT UAM STUDENTS

  • Sophomore (30-59 hours completed) $750 per semester.
  • Junior (60-89 hours completed) $1,000 per semester.
  • Senior (90+ hours completed) $1,500 per semester.
  • Must have attended UAM at least two semesters and earned 30 credit hours for the academic year.
  • Must be pursuing first bachelor’s degree with a declared major.
  • Must be meeting Satisfactory Academic Progress with a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA.
  • Must not also be receiving another UAM institutional scholarship.
  • Renewal criteria: Scholarships are awarded competitively -- prior recipients may be considered if they submit the application by the deadline.

    Application: Complete through https://uamont.academicworks.com by August 1st, subject to available funding.

  • Full or partial tuition and fees assistance.
  • Must have been enrolled at UAM full-time for at least four continuous semesters.
  • Must be within 6 hours of graduating with first bachelor’s degree.
  • Must be making Satisfactory Academic Progress.
  • Must have unmet financial need.
