COVID-19 Safety precautions

UAM continues to monitor pandemic activity in the state of Arkansas and will follow CDC, UA System, and Arkansas Department of Health event recommendations. All event details are subject to change. Please continue to check this page and UAM social media accounts for updates.

All persons participating in, working,  or attending the event must wear a mask or face covering throughout the event.

Employees, participants and guests will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon entering the facility for the event.

Social distancing is required by all guest parties and event participants. A space of 6 feet between groups is required throughout the event.

As required by the Arkansas Department of Health, we are limited significantly in the seating capacity that may be utilized for this ceremony. Each graduate is allowed two tickets for their guests. All attendees must have a ticket.

information for graduates

Only graduates who have confirmed their participation with the Office of Academic Affairs are approved to participate in the fall 2020 ceremony.

To avoid congregating for a practice this year, we have created a virtual rehearsal. Participants must review the REHEARSAL VIDEO prior to the ceremony. It will be uploaded to this site by November 17.

Graduates participating in the ceremony must arrive early to line up at 2:00 p.m. on November 20 in the Lassiter Indoor Practice Facility. Graduates should not enter the stadium seating area with their guests as this will affect our facility capacity count. Participants must wear a mask throughout the entire event and will remain six feet apart wherever possible.

Graduates must bring their herald card, regalia, and hood (if a graduate student). These items are available through the bookstore at the campus where you were enrolled. Caps, gowns and tassels are free to graduates and will be available for pickup beginning Monday, November 16. You must bring an official ID to receive your regalia. Hoods for Master's graduates must be purchased.

Please direct regalia questions to your UAM campus bookstore:

information for guests

Doors at Cotton Boll stadium will open to guests at 1:30 p.m. for the 3:00 p.m. ceremony.

All guests must present a ticket to gain entry into the stadium. The Arkansas Department of Health has approved this event to celebrate all 2020 graduates only with the COVID-19 precautions in place. This means our seating capacity is extremely limited. Thank you for your understanding.

All guests will be screened for COVID-19 symptoms upon entry per Arkansas Department of Health requirement. Masks must be worn for the entirety of the event. A distance of six feet must be maintained between groups at all times.

The Clear Bag Policy is in place for any event held in an athletic facility, including commencement exercises.

Photography: For your convenience, UAM has secured a professional photographic service to take photos of each graduate as they receive their degrees. One photo will be mailed to each graduate free of charge.

Parking will be available in lots adjacent to Cotton Boll Stadium as well as around the campus. Handicap parking is available in the Lassiter Indoor Practice Facility lot. This year we are regretfully unable to provide golf cart and bus transportation to guests due to COVID-19 safety recommendations.
