COVID-19 SAFETY PRECAUTIONS

UAM continues to monitor pandemic activity in the state of Arkansas and will follow CDC, UA System, and Arkansas Department of Health event recommendations.  All event details are subject to change.  Please continue to check this page and UAM social media accounts for updates.

Face coverings or masks are suggested.  Social distancing is suggested for all guest parties and event participants.

INFORMATION FOR GRADUATES

Only graduates who have confirmed their participation with the Office of Academic Affairs are approved to participate in the ceremony. 

Participants must review the virtual rehearsal video prior to the ceremony.  It will be uploaded to this webpage the week prior to the commencement exercises, at the latest. Graduates should continue to check email regularly as the event approaches.

Graduates participating in the ceremony must arrive early and will line up in the Judy & Jack Lassiter Indoor Practice Facility.  Comfortable shoes are recommended as line up area does not have seating.  Doors will be open for line up at 9:00 a.m. and participants must line up by 9:30 a.m. at the latest.  Graduates should not enter the stadium seating area with their guests as this will affect the facility capacity count.  Participants must wear a mask inside the IPF, but may remove them once seated on the field.  No personal items of graduates will be stored in the IPF during the ceremony. 

Graduates must bring their herald card, regalia, and hood (if a graduate student).  These items are available through the bookstore located on your home campus.  Caps, gowns and tassels are free to graduates and will be available for pickup December 6th – 10th.  Those on the Monticello campus must pick up their regalia before 9 a.m. on December 10th.  You must bring an official ID to receive your regalia.  Hoods for Master's graduates must be purchased.

INFORMATION FOR GUESTS

Doors at Cotton Boll stadium will open to guests at 9:00 a.m. for the 10:00 a.m. ceremony.

The NCAA Clear Bag Policy remains in place for any event held in an athletic facility, including commencement. 

Photography:  For your convenience, UAM has secured a professional photographic service to take photos of each graduate as they receive their degrees.  One photo will be mailed to each graduate free of charge.  These will be mailed with diploma certificates at the end of February or the first of March for December graduates.

Parking will be available in lots adjacent to Cotton Boll Stadium as well as around the campus. Accessible parking is available in the Lassiter Indoor Practice Facility lot.  This year we are regretfully unable to provide golf cart and bus transportation to campus guests.

Food and drink will not be allowed in the stadium.  Please check this page during the week of the event to be sure there have been no changes made due to inclement weather (see note below).

ACCESSIBILITY

In order to arrange adequate seating, any graduate with mobility limitations requiring special seating should contact the Registrar’s Office at 870-460-1034 no later than December 6th. Graduates who have family and/or guests who need special seating arrangements due to mobility limitations should contact the Office of Academic Affairs at 870-460-1032 no later than December 6th

INCLEMENT WEATHER

In the case of rain, this webpage will be updated to indicate the change in location.  Graduates will be updated via the RAVE Alert system.  The rain location is Steelman Fieldhouse located at 563 Weevil Drive. Thank you for your understanding.

The event will be streamed live online at UAMont.edu regardless of the weather or ceremony location.
