Field Education Director/Assistant Professor of Social Work 

The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) (www.uamont.edu) is seeking applicants for an Assistant Professor & Field Education Director of Social Work.  This is a full-time ten-month (Aug. 1 - May 30) tenure-track position.  UAM conducts background checks on all positions.

UAM, one of the thirteen campuses of the University of Arkansas system, is located in southeastern Arkansas in the beautiful timberlands, rich in outdoor recreation activities, and approximately 100 miles south of Little Rock.  UAM is a comprehensive, residential, and commuter undergraduate institution also offering selected master’s degree programs. 

Responsibilities:  The BSW Field Director works under the supervision and direction of the Director of Social Work and is responsible for directing all leadership and management aspects of the BSW Field Education Program. The chosen candidate will teach four courses per academic year, including the Field Practicum and Field Practicum Seminar. The Field Practicum course represents a 25% course load reduction (as per CSWE requirements). 

Required Qualifications: An MSW from a CSWE accredited program and a minimum of two (2) years post-Master's social work experience. An LMSW or LCSW, and be eligible for licensing in Arkansas.  A minimum of two (2) years college teaching experience, preferably in a BSW or MSW program. A minimum of one (1) year of relevant and successful administrative/leadership experience, such as agency director or program coordinator or clinical supervisor in a social agency.  The ability to work as a team with administrators, fellow faculty, staff, and students.

Preferred Qualifications: Knowledge of baccalaureate social work education and current accreditation standards (2015 EPAS); Experience as a field instructor or agency supervisor for BSW students; developing and overseeing the implementation of a field education program; online pedagogy and interest and skills for the development of online/hybrid social work courses; strong knowledge, skills, and experience in working with diverse students and client/patient populations; and a sincere desire for personal growth and development as an educator, including teaching, scholarship, and service throughout one's career.
