The University of Arkansas at Monticello Office of Residence Life is seeking qualified applicants to hire as a Graduate Assistant/Resident Director starting Spring 2021.

Position Description: The Resident Director (RD) is a live-in residential leadership position within the division of ResLife. The position is a 12-month appointment with annual renewals designed for completion of a two year master’s degree program (extensions can be approved on a case-by-case basis). The RD is involved in all components of residence hall management, including but not limited to: check in/checkout, staff training/mentorship, strategic planning, student conduct, and student engagement through social, recreational, and educational programs
within the residence hall system.

A resident director has the opportunity to work with first-year students and upperclassmen in traditional residential communities focusing on expanding student learning and leadership experiences.

Qualifications: All applicants must be admitted or eligible for admission into an  approved graduate program of study and must be enrolled in classes or planning to enroll for Spring 2021. The successful candidate will work for the University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) and be granted time for graduate course work and class attendance. A background check will be completed on the successful candidate.

Preference will be given to students who have prior applicable experience and who are interested in developing a career in University Housing or Student Affairs.

Compensation: Tuition and fee payment (at a pre-approved rate) to any accredited university, yearly stipend of $7000, private fully furnished residential apartment, and university meal plan. This is a non-benefits eligible position on a twelve-month schedule.
