Financial Aid Analyst
The University of Arkansas at Monticello (UAM) (www.uamont.edu) is seeking applicants for the position of Financial Aid Analyst. This position works under general supervision and has frequent contact with students, faculty, staff, and external agencies/companies.
Responsibilities: The Financial Aid Analyst will process federal and private student loans for the University. Duties include but are not limited to:
- Counsel student and parent borrowers regarding loan requirements
- Connect student borrowers and their loan servicers
- Document student contact activity and results
- Regular reconciliation of loan program funds
- Review, process, award federal aid to students in accordance with policies and regulations
- Ability to keep accurate records on programs administered by the Financial Aid Office
Occasional overtime work may be required.
Qualifications: Minimum requirements include the formal education equivalent of a baccalaureate degree in business administration or a related field; plus one year of experience in financial aid or related area in higher education administration. Knowledge of computers and software application programs. Knowledge of database management, basic accounting principles, and financial aid processes. Must have the ability to conduct research and perform basic quantitative quality assurance reviews; ability to plan, organize, and coordinate activities, resources, and materials associated with the needs of the department or program; and the ability to counsel students and families. Must have excellent written and oral communication skills.
Salary: Pay grade C115 with a beginning salary of $29,251 including excellent fringe benefits.
