Coming Soon: A new way to navigate Blackboard courses!

On March 1, 2022, we updated our Blackboard Learn system to incorporate the new Ultra Course View. This new view has a sleek, modern look and feel and will save you time with simpler workflows and easier access to important information inside your courses. I bet you have questions, so let me take a moment to answer some of them now.

What is the Ultra Course View?

The Ultra Course View is a simpler and more modern course experience for instructors and students. The workflows and tools are easy to find and use in the Ultra Course View. Instructors and students will need very little experience with Blackboard Learn to find and use the tools available to them, but more experienced users may find the Ultra Course View limits their ability to customize their courses. In the Ultra Course View, you have simplified workflows, a modern look and feel, and a fully responsive interface on all devices.

What does this mean for me?

  • Your courses will be different. They will look and operate differently than past courses you have participated in
  • Starting May 16, 2022, you will see the new course view as soon as you log into your Summer or Fall courses
  • So, just sit back and take advantage of some of the benefits below!

How will this enhance your efficiency and experience?

Some of the highlights of the new Ultra Course experience include:

  • It is more Mobile-friendly. The Ultra Course View adapts to the size of users' screens whether they view courses on a mobile phone, tablet, or desktop computer. Users can access their courses on the go and on their schedules.
  • It has simplified workflows. Ready to add course content? On the Course Content page, select the plus sign to add content. The system walks you through the process to add assignments, discussions, links, and external content.
  • Improved navigation. No need to dig for course tools. At the top of your screen, you'll find content, events, discussions, grades, and messages, no matter where you are in the course.
