Dear Prospective
Resident:
It is our privilege
to welcome you to Housing and Residence Life. We are very excited that
you are interested in living on campus.
Living on campus is
a unique opportunity. Residence Life involves much more than just
providing a place to sleep. There are opportunities to get involved in
academic, social, educational, leadership, cultural, and recreational
programs. Living on campus is convenient, cost effective and rewarding.
Consider these
reasons students should live on campus:
-
Nationally,
students who live on campus tend to have better grade point
averages;
-
Students have
more contact with faculty;
-
Students are
closer to the library, computer labs, resource centers and tutor
labs;
-
Students are
more likely to be active in campus activities, social organizations,
and leadership roles;
-
Students do not
waste time with morning commuter traffic;
-
Students are
provided with healthy meals every day.
-
Students who do
not live on campus are not eligible for Resident Assistant or Desk
Assistant jobs.
-
Most financial aid / scholarships cover the cost of housing.
Living on campus is
a unique and exciting college experience. You will make friends with
individuals from around the globe with a wide array of backgrounds and
experiences. The diversity advantage is critical to networking, career
development, and leadership success.
We want to
personally invite you to make the residence halls at the University of
Arkansas Monticello your new home. In order to reserve your room, you
must complete and return the housing application along with your $60.00
damage deposit. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to
call
