Mission Statement 

The mission of the UAM Exercise Center is to provide the university community with opportunities to develop and employ measures to achieve lifelong physical fitness through three components: evaluation, education and action.

  • Evaluation of individuals’ current levels of fitness includes weight, body fat composition, body mass index, blood pressure, cholesterol levels, blood sugar levels, oxygen saturation and cardiac risk analysis.
  • Educational programs and services emphasizing awareness, prevention and positive health behavior changes through both structured and unstructured programs and individual health education sessions.
  • Action consisting of opportunities that facilitate and support growth in the six dimensions of wellness: physical, occupational, emotional, spiritual, social and intellectual.

Hours of Operation

The UAM Exercise Center is an open recreation facility available at no cost to all UAM students.

UAM Faculty and staff and their dependents who are over the age of 16 may pay an annual fee of $60.00 each to use the Exercise Center.

Hours of operation for Fall and Spring sessions:

Monday thru Thursday  6:00a.m.- 9:00p.m.
Friday 6:00a.m.- 6:00p.m.
Saturday 3:00p.m.- 7:00p.m.
Sunday 3:00p.m.- 7:00p.m.

*The Exercise Center will be closed on all holidays, holiday weekends, between terms, and at other posted times.
