What is an Ambassador?

The UAM Student Ambassador Organization is an elite group of students who have demonstrated outstanding leadership skills, communication skills, high personal confidence, have strong organization skills and assume and delegate responsibility.  The program was started in 1979 and it was the first Ambassador organization in Arkansas.  Years later many schools followed.

Why are they so special?

Each ambassador brings their own unique talents and personality to the group to make it truly diverse.  As a matter of fact, the only thing that Ambassadors have in common is a commitment to excellence and leadership potential.

How do I become an Ambassador?

Students may apply for the ambassador program by completing an application and submitting it to the Admissions Office. The application goes live on the website at the beginning of each spring semester. All applicants must submit a letter of recommendation in addition to the essay portion of the application. The recommendation must come from a UAM faculty/staff member or a previous/current ambassador.
