Local News
The School of Business recently was
notified that our very own, Amber Reaves won the National Outstanding
Manuscript award. This is part of the IMA's Student Chapter of
Excellence competition in which our local chapter was awarded the Gold
(see below). We are very proud of Amber and would like to
congratulate her on this honor! She will receive the award at the
National Conference in Denver, Colorado on June 7th. Check back to

The School of
Business held its annual Awards Banquet Friday, May 24 at the UAM
University Center. Our local IMA Chapter received its third Gold
Achievement Award from the National Institute of Management Accountants.
Dr. James presented this award to President Ashley Lay during the
ceremony. The local chapter was established during the 2006-07
school year and has received this award each year. We are so proud
of our local chapter - keep up the good work!!!!

IMA presented its
first scholarship at the School of Business Awards Banquet. We are
proud to announce that JJ Solorio is the recipient of the IMA
scholarship. We are so proud of JJ and appreciate all that he does
for IMA! Congratulations JJ!

As the school year
draws to an end we would like to recognize our new officers for the
2009-10 school year: Catherine Glass, President; Amber Reaves,
Vice-President; Amanda Keithley, Secretary; J J Solorio, Treasurer; and
Aaron Gerbitz, Director of Activities. Congratulations! We
know you will serve our organization to the best of your ability!

On Monday, April 27 IMA honored
its graduating seniors. This is quite an accomplishment for each
of these students and we are so proud of them. Each student was
given a Cross Pen/Pencil with their names engraved. Seniors we
will miss you all!! Shown below are: Renita Robinson, Monica
Strickland, Kelsey Stout and Ashley Lay.
