Chi Iota Sigma Minutes for March 4, 2004

- Members voted 7 to 4 to take the field trip in April rather than March

- Web page publishing contest will be postponed until fall semester
- Chris spoke to the members about the COBOL programming contest, which took place in Little Rock at UALR
- Resume due March 12, 2004, for resume book - Give your resume to Mr. Dombrowski or Nancy in the CIS office
- Relay for Life walk in April 23, 2004 - The walk will be conducted around the Weevils stadium track
- The members voted to accepted the presidents' resignation

Chi Iota Sigma Minutes for February 5, 2004

Chi Iota Sigma had a successful can good and coat drive. We collected 81 coats and a truckload of food. The President recognized Jamie Wells and Rashonda Baker for their dedication and support.

- Current paid membership
- Attend at least 2 club meetings
- Maintain a 2.5 GPA
- At least 1 of the 5 stipends goes to a chi Iota Sigma club officer
Volunteers needed to help with the Easter can good drive

Chi Iota Sigma Volleyball team is looking for men and women to play on our team.
- Must have 3 males and 3 females min. to play

Mrs. Selby is looking for volunteers to assist with PowerPoint training for third and fourth grade students on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 12:30 to 2:00 in one of the computer labs

Resume book project for the April Job Fair

The club voted on the destination of the next field trip. The possible locations, included Century Tel, Alltel, Acxiom, DIS-Arkansas, and Dillards. The membership approved by a majority vote to go to Dillards.

Christmas Party on December 4th
The Division of Computer Information Systems and Chi Iota Sigma held their Christmas party and CIS club business meeting on December 4th.
The CIS club inducted thirteen new members, including Matishia Bobo, Joel Dyer, Jonah Freeman, Seth Mankin, Deana Moffatt, Ronda Ridgell, Wendy Sandridge, Lee Savage, Christy Tucker, Wevin Ward, Densen Watson, Tera Whitehead, and Thomas Wurst.
Dr. Roiger provided CIS students and CIS club members with a brief overview of the new Virtual Internship Program with NETSCO of Research Triangle Park, North Carolina; and information about the new Advanced Certificate program that will start in Fall 2004.
Dr. Roiger then announced the winners of this year's CIS Division $100.00 book stipends, including Tironeka Brown, Julian Burchette, Kathy Davis, Yvette Franklin, Shannon Grantier, Kejuania Grayson, Kiki Langford, Deana Moffatt, Chris Simpson, Christy Tucker, Tera Whitehead, and Thomas Wurst.
Finally Dr. Roiger announced that a new general scholarship fund for Chi Iota Sigma has been established that will provide five $100.00 book stipends in the spring and in the fall for CIS club members who qualify. Qualification will include meeting and event attendance requirements and other criteria. The qualifications will be distributed at the next meeting in February 2004.
The CIS club culminated another successful food and coat drive by collecting several pick-up truck loads of canned food and coats.
