Unit(s): Stage Movement/Acting/Improvisation
Purpose:
To develop an improvisation and utilize only questions in the conversation
Objective:
Students will create improvisations and demonstrate characterization, proper stage movement, and demonstrate knowledge of the elements of drama.
Materials:
A prompt or topic is given to the performers before they begin.
Examples:
A. Two surgeons before a major operation
B. Two politicians before a major speech
C. Two dogs in search of archeological finds
Procedure:
- Students will be selected for an improvisation.
- They must communicate verbally with each other utilizing only questions.
- The scene should develop and follow a plot and characters should be established.
