Drama Units and Activities

Interview

Unit(s): Acting/Improvisation

Purpose:

To increase the student's ability to listen and cooperate with other performers

Objective:

Students will build a plot, maintain character, and develop a coherent conversation with one another.

Materials:

None needed

Procedure:

  1. Two students will be selected. One will be assigned the job as interviewer and other as the interviewee. (One student will be the talk show host and the other a specialist in any topic area. Examples: clowning, whistling, singing off key, etc.)
  2. The interviewer asks questions which will have to be responded to by saying, "Yes, and " and the interviewee must then continue the conversation to give the interviewer something else that he/she will be able to use in asking additional questions.
