Unit(s): Acting/Improvisation
Purpose:
To conduct an improvisation using quotes drawn prior to the improv and incorporate the quotes into the scene.
Objective:
Student will create a plot, characters, and movements that will be believable for the audience.
Materials:
- Quotes are written on individual strips of paper(can be from television: "I'll bet your can't eat just one," " the friendlier picker upper," or "reach out and touch someone."
- Situations (see appendix for improvisation)
Procedure:
- Two students will be selected for an improvisation.
- Each person will be given three quotes which are folded and not known to them or others in the room.
- They are then given a situation for the improvisation, and one at a time the quotes are incorporated into the scene.
- They must enhance the plot of the story.
- The improvisation should follow the situation given.
