Purpose:
To practice strengthening sense recall
Objective:
Students will be able to write an ode describing an oreo after observing the cookie.
Materials:
One oreo cookie per student. . .they do not touch until the word is given.
Procedure:
- At the signal, each student is to "observe" the cookie, using the sense of sight, touch, smell, sound, (Cookies make a "crummy" sound when raked by the fingernail!) and. . .finally. . .the sense of taste.
- After they have eaten the oreo. . . they are then to write a five-line "Ode" to their oreo. . .telling their cookie how it looked, smelled, sounded, felt. . .and. . .tasted.
- Obviously. . .an abundance of adjectives is to be expected!
