Drama Units and Activities

Time For Tag-Line

Unit(s): Acting/Imagination

Purpose:

To develop "plot" building skills

Objective:

Students will work on rising action, climax, falling action and to an objective "tag line."

Materials:

Suggested Tag Lines:

A. That's the way the cookie crumbles.

B. Oh, no, not YOU!

C. She's out planting pickles.

D. That, Mr. Smith, is that.

E. The mouse is in the trap.

F. The taxi is waiting.

G. There's never time for rain.

H. Cabbages, okra and beans.

Procedure:

Class is evenly divided into groups. Each group is then assigned a "tag line."

The group must then put together a sketch which realistically works toward the tag line.

The tag line will have absolutely NOTHING to do with anything. However, it must be the LAST line uttered and be "motivated."
