Cody Bijou Presents Research in Germany

MONTICELLO, AR — Cody Bijou's recent research into the recruiting methods of the terrorist organization ISIS earned the University of Arkansas at Monticello senior a trip to Germany. Bijou presented the results of his research to an international political and economic forum hosted by the Institute for Cultural Diplomacy in Berlin, Germany, March 9-11.

Jay Jones Resigns As Vice Chancellor For Advancement

MONTICELLO, AR — Jay Jones has resigned as vice chancellor for advancement at the University of Arkansas at Monticello to pursue opportunities in private business, according to a statement released today by UAM Chancellor Karla Hughes.

Agriculture Policy Class Tours State Capitol

MONTICELLO, AR — Agricultural policy students in the University of Arkansas at Monticello School of Agriculture got a first-hand look at a regular session of the Arkansas General Assembly during a tour of the State Capitol in Little Rock last week.

Forestry Students Place Third At Conclave

These students from the School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Arkansas at Monticello led UAM to a third place finish at the 60th annual Association of Southern Forestry Clubs Conclave, a competition of technical and physical forestry skills hosted recently by Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches, Tex. UAM finished behind Stephen F. Austin and Clemson University in the overall team competition which featured students from 13 southern forestry schools. Small Business Center To Host Workshops In White Hall And On UAM Campus

MONTICELLO, AR — A pair of workshops on the use of the accounting software QuickBooks and a workshop on government certification of businesses owned by women, minorities and veterans will be hosted April 18 and 20 by the University of Arkansas at Monticello's Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC).

MONTICELLO, AR — The concert and symphonic bands at the University of Arkansas at Monticello will present a joint concert April 11 at 7:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center. Admission is free and open to the public.

Three UAM Students Selected To Present During Alpha Chi National Convention

MONTICELLO, AR — Three University of Arkansas at Monticello students have been selected as program presenters during the Alpha Chi National College Honor Society annual convention in Louisville, Ky., April 6-8. Cody Bijou of Crosby, Tex., Reagan Dobbs of Dayton, Tex., and Bronte Pearson of Monticello will present original research as part of a convention that highlights student research and creative presentations from across the nation.
