MONTICELLO, AR — The University of Arkansas at Monticello will hold a preregistration session for incoming freshmen July 11 and a second session July 12 for transfer students and re-admitted students, according to Tawana Greene, executive director of enrollment.

MONTICELLO, AR — Six students from the University of Arkansas at Monticello recently spent two weeks in Costa Rica as part of an intensive Spanish Study and Cultural Immersion Program. The students were Alma Rivera of Wilmar, Kelsey Schrimpf of Jefferson City, Mo., Merrell Miles of Warren, Carly Curry of Sheridan, Katlyn Williams of Shreveport, La., and Annsley Davis of Monticello. They were accompanied by Isabel Bacon, associate professor of Spanish.
MONTICELLO, AR — The UAM College of Technology-Crossett will hold commencement exercises on Thursday, June 23 while the UAM College of Technology-McGehee will hold commencement on Friday, June 24. Both ceremonies are scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

MONTICELLO, AR — University of Arkansas at Monticello Chancellor Karla Hughes today announced the restructuring of the university’s enrollment management component to streamline and improve the efficiency of student recruitment and student special services.
Reagan White (left), a graduating senior at Star City High School, was recently chosen to receive the Gerald and Sue Majors Endowed Scholarship to attend the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Reagan is the daughter of Kevin and Brandy White. Also pictured is Seth Bryant of the UAM admissions office. The scholarship is awarded annually to a Star City High School senior who exhibits a strong academic background and work ethic, and displays outstanding professional potential. The award is renewable for up to eight semesters, pending criteria review each term. Reagan will be a first-time freshman entering the accounting program. The scholarship was created by Star City natives Gerald and Sue Majors, who currently reside in White Hall. The award has been presented annually since 2005. Currently, four UAM students are receiving the scholarship.
MONTICELLO, AR — Two faculty members from the School of Forestry and Natural Resources at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, in collaboration with a UAM undergraduate student, have consolidated field notes and survey plats into a searchable electronic database for land surveyors in Arkansas.
MONTICELLO, AR — The University of Arkansas at Monticello will hold two preregistration sessions for incoming freshmen June 13 and 14, according to Mary Whiting, director of admissions. Both sessions begin at 12:30 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center. Only students who have applied for admission and have received mail notification may preregister on those dates. Letters of invitation were sent to each student with a request for a reply. Limited places are available for each session.
