The Desha-Drew County Cattlemen’s Association recently presented scholarships to three agriculture students at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. This year’s recipients are Allison Eubanks of Wilmar, a sophomore animal science and agribusiness double major, Hunter Hayes of Monticello, a sophomore agribusiness major, and Kelsey Windham of Wilmar, a junior animal science major. MONTICELLO, AR — Enrollment for the 2016 fall semester at the University of Arkansas at Monticello increased by nearly eight percent over the previous year, according to official figures released from the Arkansas Department of Higher Education.

MONTICELLO, AR — The debate team from the University of Arkansas at Monticello recently won the cumulative sweepstakes championship and placed second in the tournament sweepstakes at the Mendoza Debates hosted by Lee College in Baytown, Tex.
Seven students are currently taking advantage of scholarship funds made available by the Arkansas Department of Health to complete a one-semester course in emergency medical technician (EMT) training at the UAM College of Technology-McGehee. Following completion of the one-semester course, the students are eligible to continue to a three-semester program to earn a technical certificate as paramedics.
