MONTICELLO, AR — High school students in the Stuttgart area trying to decide which college to attend may learn more about the University of Arkansas at Monticello at UAM Information Night January 25 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the Grand Prairie Center, 2709 Highway 65 South, in Stuttgart. The event is specifically for students in Stuttgart, DeWitt, Lonoke, England, Hazen, Clarendon, Des Arc, Brinkley, and all branches of Phillips Community College of the University of Arkansas.

Three practical nursing students from the UAM College of Technology-McGehee have been awarded scholarships by the 2014 practical nursing graduating class through the student organization of the Arkansas Licensed Practical Nursing Association (ALPNA). The scholarship recipients were required to write a letter explaining their need for the scholarship and were chosen by a scholarship committee of the 2014 graduating class based on the contents of the letter. Kim Ray, sponsor of the student organization, hopes to make the scholarship opportunity available on an annual basis.
