Young Artist Winner To Perform At UAM September 15

MONTICELLO, AR — Violist Matthew Lipman, winner of the National Federation of Music Clubs 2015 Young Artist Award, will present a free public performance September 15 at 7 p.m. in the Fine Arts Center of the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Lipman’s appearance is being co-sponsored by the UAM Division of Music, Monticello Music Club, Pine Bluff Musical Coterie, and the SEARK Concert Association.

New Academic Advisors Key Component In Student Success Collaboration

MONTICELLO, AR — Since becoming chancellor of the University of Arkansas at Monticello last January, Dr. Karla Hughes has focused much of her attention on one major goal – student success. Hughes wants to improve retention and graduation rates to make UAM a model open access institution. To achieve that goal, she initiated a Student Success Collaboration to keep students in school and point them toward career paths where they have the greatest opportunity to succeed.

McGehee Nursing Graduates Achieve 100 Percent Pass Rate On NCLEX-PN Licensure Exam

The December 2015 practical nursing graduates of the UAM College of Technology-McGehee have achieved a 100 percent pass rate on the NCLEX-PN licensure exam, according to Peggie Orrell, director of the nursing program at the McGehee campus. The McGehee program is one of five statewide to achieve a 100 percent pass rate. Practical nursing graduates from the McGehee program have earned a 100 percent pass rate three consecutive years and five times in the last six.
