UAM To Host Scholar’s Day April 18

MONTICELLO, AR — First-time freshmen for the fall of 2016 who have been awarded institutional merit-based scholarships from the University of Arkansas at Monticello will be guests of UAM for Scholar’s Day April 18, according to Mary Whiting, director of admissions.

UAM Announces Seniors-First Pre-Registration Plan

MONTICELLO, AR — University of Arkansas at Monticello seniors who have completed a minimum of 90 hours of academic course credit will have the option to register first for classes for the first and second summer terms as well as the 2016 fall semester according to a new pre-registration plan announced today by UAM Chancellor Karla Hughes.

Nathan Bailey Places First At Collegiate Farm Bureau Discussion Meet

MONTICELLO, AR — Nathan Bailey of Monticello took first place in the 2016 UAM Collegiate Farm Bureau Discussion Meet recently held at the University of Arkansas at Monticello. Discussion meets are sponsored by the Arkansas Farm Bureau and allow participants to discuss a current agricultural issue in a committee meeting format. Points are given for analysis of the topic, problem solving and implementation, a cooperative attitude, and general delivery. Each participant makes individual opening and closing statements of their own composition with all participants engaging in a general discussion period.

Dinner Pops Concert To Feature The Music Of Gershwin, Porter, Sondheim, and Rodgers and Hammerstein

MONTICELLO, AR — The music of some of America’s greatest composers will be part of the fare at a Dinner Pops Concert at the University of Arkansas at Monticello on March 31. The UAM Chamber Choir and Music Theatre Workshop under the direction of Dr. Kent Skinner will perform for guests while they enjoy dinner in the Green Room of the John F. Gibson University Center beginning at 6 p.m. Tickets for the event are $25 and may be purchased in advance by calling the Division of Music at (870) 460-1060.
