MONTICELLO, AR — “Reflexio: A Visual Rhetoric of Spectres, Liminal Bodies, & the Monstrous Feminine”, an exhibition of paintings and prints by Susan David can be viewed now in the Glassblock Gallery in the Taylor Library at UAM November 13, 2018 through January 22, 2019.

Susan David has a BFA from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a MFA from the Vermont College of Fine Arts. She is the founder of Freetown Studios, Inc., a non-profit artist run workspace to promote art in Lafayette Parrish, LA. She has exhibited her work in numerous exhibitions, has participated in international public art exhibitions, and is currently a recipient of ArtSpark 2016, an Individual Artist Stipend funded by the Acadiana Center for the Arts and the Lafayette Economic Development Authority. By blending elements of religion, mythology, and the feminine, Susan David’s artwork intertwines history of the shadow, symbolic connection of water and the human form, and narrative to conceptually address the fractured world.
