McGehee Campus To Host Two Re-Entry Resource Fairs For Ex-Offenders July 26 and July 31

MONTICELLO, AR — The UAM College of Technology-McGehee will host Re-Entry Resource Fairs, entitled "Trials to Triumph," July 26 in Monticello and July 31 in McGehee to connect ex-offenders with resources and employment opportunities, according to Cortez Smith, program director for the Career Pathways Initiative at the McGehee campus.

            The July 26 event will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the Holmes Chapel Presbyterian Church Life Center at 527 East McCloy in Monticello and is for persons from Drew, Ashley, Bradley and Chicot Counties.

            The July 31 fair will be held from 9 a.m. to 12 noon at the UAM College of Technology-McGehee at 1609 East Ash Street. The McGehee event is for persons from Desha and Chicot Counties.

            Each Resource Fair will provide information about employment, education, housing, legal services, health care, food security and rehabilitation. Fair participants are encouraged to dress in professional attire and will receive help in developing a resume`.

            Event organizers are the UAM COT-McGehee, Arkansas Community Corrections, the Southeast Arkansas Economic Development District, and the Arkansas Department of Workforce Services.
