Central Arkansas Library System To Present Program On Incarceration Of Japanese-Americans in Arkansas

MONTICELLO, AR — The incarceration of Japanese-Americans in relocation camps in Arkansas during World War II is the subject of a program to be presented at the University of Arkansas at Monticello February 1 at 7 p.m. in the Memorial Classroom Building. The program is being presented by Kim Sanders of the Butler Center for Arkansas Studies of the Central Arkansas Library System.

            The presentation will include photographs, artwork and documents created during the wartime incarceration. Butler's program will address themes of identity, community, civil rights and justice. Sponsoring organizations are the Taylor Library and Technology Center and the UAM history department.
