Red Hawk Poetry Honored By Comstock Review

MONTICELLO, AR — Dr. Robert Moore, who writes under the pen name "Red Hawk" and teaches English at the University of Arkansas at Monticello, has been honored in the Comstock Review 2017 Poetry Contest.

            Moore's poem, "The Valley Spirit," has been selected for special merit and will appear in an upcoming edition of the journal, which publishes the work of leading poets from across the United States. The Comstock Writers' Group was incorporated in 1986 as a non-profit organization devoted to poetry and poets.

            A professor of English, Moore joined the UAM faculty in 1997. He holds bachelor's and master's degrees from Illinois State University and a Ph.D. from the University of Cincinnati. He has published numerous books of poetry, including The Art of Dying, Mother Guru, Return to the Mother, Self-Observation, an Owner's Manual, Self Remembering, The Way of Power, and Wreckage With a Beating Heart.
