Daniel Boice, director of the Taylor Library and Technology Center, has been appointed by Chancellor Karla Hughes to the position of Accreditation Liaison Officer for the Higher Learning Commission.

Boice, who previously held the position on an interim basis, will work at the direction of the Interim Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs to promote UAM’s current initiatives with the HLC regarding ongoing accreditation.

“I am pleased that Daniel Boice has agreed to serve the institution in this important role,” said Dr. Hughes. “I look forward to his input as we move forward with long-term planning to strengthen our ongoing accreditation efforts.”

“I’m grateful for the confidence Chancellor Hughes has shown in entrusting me with duties so important to the direction and the mission of the university,” said Boice. “Accreditation can be perplexing and often intimidating for many. It will be my job to answer questions, to make sure we are doing what we need to be doing, and staying aware of any changes that directly affect us. With my years of service as an HLC Consultant-Evaluator, and having served as an Accreditation Liaison Officer at a previous institution, I am excited to have the opportunity to put my experience to good use for UAM.”
