MONTICELLO, AR — The Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) at the University of Arkansas at Monticello will host four workshops April 9 and 12 on subjects ranging from starting a new business to the use of QuickBooks software, according to Stephanie Harton, ASBTDC director.
The center will host a free workshop April 9 at the Sadie Johnson Building adjacent to Jordan Park in Monticello. The workshop will provide information on how to start a new business in Arkansas, including essential startup steps, legal business structures, regulations and licensing, key issues that affect business success, and common mistakes made by entrepreneurs.
The ASBTDC will offer three workshops on QuickBooks business software on April 12 in the Donald W. Reynolds Community Services Center in Pine Bluff. Cost of each workshop is $40.
The first workshop, “Setting Up QuickBooks,” will begin at 8:15 a.m. and is designed for beginners and those with limited experience using the software. The second workshop, “QuickBooks for Beginners,” will begin at 10:30 a.m. and teach the basics of QuickBooks, including debits and credits, routine tasks, writing checks and making deposits, entering and paying bills, invoices and receipts, and receiving payments. The third workshop, “QuickBooks Reports,” will begin at 1:30 p.m. and includes training in how to use QuickBooks to develop and generate financial reports.
