MONTICELLO, AR — The Southeast Arkansas Concert Association will present “Rock Around The Clock,” an evening of jazz music and a picnic dinner on the grounds around the Centennial Clock Tower at the University of Arkansas at Monticello April 1 at 6 p.m.
Tickets are $40 and include a boxed picnic dinner prepared by chef Thomas Bedward and Aramark Food Service. Tickets may be purchased in advance by calling the UAM Division of Music at (870) 460-1060.
The performance will feature UAM Jazz Band I with four guest artists – trumpeter Steve Howard, who has performed with Paul McCartney and Wings, trombonist Craig Grubbs and saxophonist Nathan Carman of Heber Springs, and pianist David Kane of Washington, D.C.
Proceeds from ticket sales will go toward the renovation of the UAM Fine Arts Center. “Because the Fine Arts Center serves as the venue for nearly all SEARK Concert Association events, helping with the project is important to us,” said Susan Akin, SEARK Concert Association chair. “We wanted to help with the renovation project as a way of showing our appreciation for the university allowing us to use the facility to share the arts with the people of this region.”
