Civil Rights Struggle in Arkansas The Subject Of Humanities Council Display At Taylor Library

MONTICELLO, AR — “Foot Soldiers for Freedom,” an exhibit that chronicles the struggle for civil rights in Arkansas, will be on display in the Taylor Library and Technology Center at the University of Arkansas at Monticello February 29 through March 20. Library hours are 8 a.m. to 10 p.m. Monday through Thursday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Friday, and 2 to 10 p.m. on Sunday.

            Produced by the board of directors of the Arkansas Humanities Council, the Black History Commission of Arkansas and local and state historians and scholars, the exhibit outlines the struggle for civil rights through the lives of ordinary people and lesser-known events.
