Starting A Business, Writing A Business Plan Are Subjects Of Free ASBTDC Seminars

MONTICELLO, AR — How to start a business and how to write a business plan are the subjects of two seminars to be offered in January by the Arkansas Small Business and Technology Development Center (ASBTDC) at the University of Arkansas at Monticello.

            The first seminar, "Starting a Business in Arkansas," is scheduled for January 12 from 10 a.m. to 12 noon at the Crossett Public Library. The seminar is free to veterans and $20 for all others. Topics include essential steps for starting a business, legal business structures, regulations and licensing, key issues affecting business success and common pitfalls faced by entrepreneurs.

            The second seminar, "How to Write a Business Plan," is free and scheduled for January 26 from 9-11 a.m. in the House Room of the John F. Gibson University Center on the UAM campus. Topics include defining your business concept, evaluating the competition, determining risks and estimating costs.
