MONTICELLO, AR — Dr. Vera Lang-Brown, associate professor of education at
the University of Arkansas at Monticello, recently received recognition for
outstanding service as 2007-08 president of the Arkansas Association of
Teacher Educators (ArATE). Brown was recognized at the organization’s annual
conference at the University of Central Arkansas in Conway.
Lang-Brown has served the association for several years as a board member,
second vice president, first vice president, president, and nominating
chairperson. ArATE is the state's representative of the national
Association of Teacher Educators (ATE).
As first vice president, Lang-Brown coordinated the ArATE annual fall
conference at the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff. Last fall,
Lang-Brown served as president and facilitator of the ArATE conference at
Arkansas Tech University.
Lang-Brown joined the UAM faculty in 1995. She holds bachelor’s and master’s
degrees from UAPB and a Ph.D. from Iowa State University.
