UAM Students Study In Costa Rica (7/17/08)

Seventeen students and faculty from the University of Arkansas at Monticello spent 10 days in Costa Rica recently to study the flora, fauna, and geology of the Central American country.  The participants included public school teachers and undergraduate and graduate students. The program included a study of tropical wildlife, geology of a tectonic area, and culture, geography, economics, government and customs. The group visited a tropical rainforest at Tortuguero National Park, two active volcanoes (Vulcan Poas and Vulcan Arenal), took a tour in a canopy tram at Braulio Carrillo National Park, a boat tour of Cano Negro Wildlife Refuge, and visited Manual Antonio National Park on the Pacific Ocean.
